Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) move to No. 1 CJHL Top 20 rankings

TORONTO – Winners of 13 consecutive contests, the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) have taken over at No. 1 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.

Wrapping up 2024 with an impressive 27-2-1-1 record, the defending title holders in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League enter the holiday break, sporting a winning percentage of .903.

Another surging side, in the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL), move to No. 2 in the national listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service.

The front-runners in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League have reeled off 15 straight victories, improving to 26-4-0-0 overall.

At No. 3 in the CJHL are the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).

Topping the table in the Maritime Hockey League, Edmundston went unbeaten in regulation time in December and went 27-3-1-1 in the 2024-portion of their schedule.

Tabbed at No. 4 are the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL).

Despite being shutout on home ice over the weekend, the Golden Hawks still maintain an Ontario Junior Hockey League-best win-rate of .857, having gone 29-4-2-0 so far on the campaign.

Another OJHL squad, in the Leamington Flyers, wrap-up the Top 5 in the CJHL.

Leamington has gone 29-5-2-1 to date, having only allowed a league-low 58 goals-against.
